how can you fix this error 'The alias is already in use.'?

i want to delete a specific ads on my account but i also see a duplicate ads which was automatically created. whatever changes i make, it also applies to the duplicate one. i can't delete the ads because the error 'The alias is already in use.' keeps on prompting everytime a delete attempt is made. Please help!
